제목: 십자가(The Cross)

 

 

[서론: 핵심 파악이 중요합니다.]

 

1. (그림) 아마 이 그림을 본 사람들이 많을 것입니다.  네.  아르키메데스의 지렛대의 원리입니다. Many of you may have seen this picture before. That’s right. It is Archimedes’s “law of the lever”. 

2. (그림) 이 그림은 우주 공간에 충분한 길이의 지렛대와 고정된 받침축을 제공받을 수 있다면, 한 사람이 지구도 들어 올릴 수 있다는 이론입니다. Archimedes is believed to have said, “Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.”

3. (그림) 물론 수학자들의 아주 복잡한 계산(그림)에 의하면 설사 들어 올릴 수 있다고 해도 실제로 지구를 1cm 들어 올리는데 광속으로 걸려도 백만년이 걸린다고 합니다. Granted, according to mathematicians’ very complicated calculations, even if we were to say someone could lift the earth, it would take them 1 million years at the speed of light to even lift it 1 centimeter. 

4. (그림) 그렇지만 지구도 들어 올릴 수 있다는 이 그림의 핵심은 지렛대(lever)와 받치는 받침축(fulcrum)에 있습니다. However, the point of this picture is in highlighting the crucial importance of the lever and fulcrum. 

5. 지렛대와 받침축을 이해할 때, 즉 핵심을 이해할 때, 그 핵심은 실제 삶에서 매우 중요하게 능력으로 사용될 수 있다는 말입니다. When you understand how the lever and the fulcrum work, that is, when you understand the core of how such equipment works, it can be used powerfully in your real life.

6. 특히 이 원리에서 ‘받침축’은 지구를 들어올리는데 가장 중요한 핵심 부분입니다. In this principle, the “fulcrum” is the main factor that causes the earth to be lifted.

7. 마찬가지로 우리가 성경을 읽으면서도 핵심을 파악하는 것이 중요합니다. Likewise, it is very important to understand the main message when we read the Scriptures. 

8. 그래서 성경을 읽을 때 늘 생각하며, 기도하며 읽어야 합니다.  이 본문에서 핵심이 무엇일까… Thus, it is necessary for us to be in constant thought and prayer as we read the Scriptures, as we ask ourselves, “What is the main point of today’s text…”

 

 

[오늘 본문에서 핵심 찾기] Finding the Main Point

9. 오늘 본문을 다 같이 읽겠습니다.  2번을 읽겠습니다.  읽는 동안 가장 핵심이 무엇일지를 생각해 보시기 바랍니다. Let us read today’s scripture together two times. As we read, please think upon what could be the main point of the text.  

10. (본문 읽기) 고후 4:10-15. 2 Corinthians 4:10-15

11. 네.  본문을 읽으면서 가장 핵심이 무엇일까요? What do you think is the main point of this text? 

12. 본문에 여러가지 얘기가 나옵니다.  ‘생명이 나타나고’(10), ‘예수의 생명이 죽을 육체에’(11), ‘생명은 너희 안에’(12), ‘다시 살리고’(14), ‘그 앞에 서게’(14) 하시며 ‘하나님께 영광’(15) 등의 표현이 너무 귀하게, 멋지게 등장합니다. Several passages stand out: “the life of Jesus may be revealed” (verse 10), “Jesus’ life may be revealed in our mortal body” (11), “life is at work in you” (12), “(God) will also raise us with Jesus” (14), “(God) will present us with you to himself”(14), and “to the glory of God” (15).

13. 이런 생명과 부활, 영생, 영원한 삶, 하나님께 영광 돌리는 모든 것은 모두 모두 중요합니다. All these—life, resurrection, eternal life, and glory to God—are truly important.

14. 그런데 이 모든 것이 있기 위해서 가장 먼저, 기본적으로 있어야 하는 것이 무엇일까요? However, what must come first in order for these things to also come into being?

15. 즉, 이 본문에서 아르키메데스의 ‘받침축’과 같은 가장 중요한 핵심은 어떤 것일까요? What would be Archimedes’ “fulcrum”—AKA the main point—in today’s passage?

16. 그 핵심이 없이는 지구를 들어 올리는 능력이 없듯이, 우리는 그 핵심을 파악해야 본문으로 부터 참된 능력을 받게 됩니다. Just as the earth cannot be moved without the fulcrum, we likewise must understand the main message of the text in order to receive true power from the Word. 

17. 네.  (그림) 본문을 보시듯이 모든 능력의 출발에는 예수의 죽음(10), 예수를 위하여 죽음에 넘겨짐(11), 사망(12), 죽은 예수를 다시 살리심(14) 등 등의 내용이 나와 있을 볼 수 있습니다. When we read the text, we can understand that power begins from the death of Jesus (10), being given over to death for Jesus’ sake (11), death (12), and raising Jesus from the dead. 

18. (그림) 이 내용들을 볼 때, 예수님의 죽음, ‘십자가’가 이 모든 열매와 결과의 출발, 즉 ‘핵심’임을 알 수 있습니다. Based on these passages, we come to understand that the death of Jesus—the cross—is the main message, because from it all these fruits and results are produced.

19. 즉, 십자가의 죽음을 통해서 부활의 영광, 능력, 영생의 삶, 풍성한 열매의 삶이 출발함을 알 수 있습니다.  In other words, the glory of resurrection, power, eternal life, and the life of abundant fruit—these all begin from the death on the cross.

20. 이것을 고린도후서 4장 전체를 통해 볼 때, 바울 사도는 이러한 십자가의 삶 자체가 바로 자신이 받은 직분이라고 표현합니다(1) Throughout chapter four, Apostle Paul explains that the life of the cross is his ministry. (v. 1)

21. 그리고 이 십자가의 능력을 ‘보배’라고 표현합니다(7). He calls the life of the cross as “treasure.”

22. 왜냐하면 십자가 속에 모든 능력이 담겨져 있고, 비밀이 담겨져 있고, 풍성함이 담겨져 있기 때문입니다. This is because it is in the cross that all power, mystery, and abundance are found.

23. 십자가 안에 모든 원리, 모든 핵심이 다 담겨져 있다는 말입니다. It means that all principles and core messages are found in the cross. 

24. 신앙 생활에서 ‘십자가’가 아르키메데스의 받침축처럼 핵심이라는 말입니다. Just as the fulcrum is the core for Archimedes, the cross is the core for the Christian life.

[십자가가 중요한 이유/무엇이 십자가일까요? / 십자가는 어떤 것일까요?] What is the Cross?

25. 십자가가 왜 그토록 중요할까요? Why is the Cross so Important?

26. 왜 사도 바울은, 왜 성경은 십자가를 이토록 중요한 핵심으로 말하는 것일까요? Why does the entire Bible and Apostle Paul think so highly of the cross as the main message? 

27. 여러분, 십자가에 대해서 많이 들어왔을 것이고, 많이 생각해 보셨을 것입니다. Beloved Hope members, I assume you have probably heard and thought of the cross many times.

28. 이제 그 모든 생각을 한번 모아서 십자가에 대해서 스스로 한번 묵상해 보시기 바랍니다.  1분을 드리겠습니다. I will give you one minute right now. Please gather all your thoughts of the cross and meditate upon them now.

29. 십자가는 어떤 것이라고 생각하십니까?  한번 스스로 생각해 보시기 바랍니다. What do you think the cross is? Please try thinking about this by yourself right now.

30. (그림) 십자가는 ____________ 입니다. (1분 후) The cross is ______________.

31. 저는 지난 몇 달 동안 이 십자가에 대해서 많이 묵상해 보았습니다. I have meditated frequently on the cross for the past several months.

32. 그런데 파면 팔 수록 더 많은 금이 나오는 광산처럼 십자가의 풍성함이 끝도 없음을 깨닫습니다. Just as you find more gold the more you dig, I realize that the abundance of the cross knows no bounds.

33. 제가 묵상한 것의 일부분을 나눈다면… I will share the things that I meditated upon.

34. 십자가는 사랑입니다.  하나님께서 대신 죽으신 것이기에. The cross is love, for God died for us.

35. 십자가는 은혜입니다.  하나님께서 자신을 다 주신 것이기에. The cross is grace, for God gave himself for us.

36. 십자가는 감사입니다.  거저 받은 것이기에. The cross is thanksgiving, for it is freely given.

37. 십자가는 능력입니다.  죽음을 이기는 것이기에. The cross is power, for it overcame death.

38. 십자가는 감격입니다.  참 자유를 주시기에. The cross is overwhelming gratitude, for it gives real freedom.

39. 십자가는 기쁨입니다.  가장 큰 선물이기에. The cross is joy, for it is the greatest gift of all. 

40. 십자가는 위로입니다.  나를 알고, 나를 위하신 것이기에. The cross is comfort, for God knows us and is for us.

41. 십자가는 동행입니다.  나의 자리까지 낮아 지신 것이기에. The cross is fellowship, for he humbled himself even to our place.

42. 십자가는 소망입니다.  부활과 재림까지 인도하시기에. The cross is hope, for he promises resurrection and return.

43. 십자가는 확신입니다.  약속(언약)을 지키신 것이기에. The cross is assurance, for he kept the covenant.

44. 십자가는 보물입니다.  세상사람들이 모르는 비법이 담겨져 있기에. The cross is treasure, for it is mysterious.

45. 십자가는 눈물입니다… (그림) 보고 싶은 가족을 볼 때 눈물 흘리지 않을 사람이 있을까요?  십자가, 즉 주님을 늘 사모하는 성도는 주님 다시 뵐 날을 생각할 때 눈물이 절로 납니다. The cross is tears… Who wouldn’t cry when they are reunited with their much missed family? In this way, the cross is tears, because Christians who cherish the Lord shed many tears as they eagerly wait to see the Lord again. 

46. 이 보다 더 많은 답이 있을까요? Can there be more ideas and insights upon the cross?

47. 당연히 훨씬 더 많은 답이 있습니다.  묵상하면 할 수록 더 많은, 귀한 답을 받게 되는 것이 십자가입니다. Of course there are many more definitions of the cross. The more you meditate upon the cross, the more revelations you will find of the cross.

48. 왜냐하면 이 십자가의 사랑을 에베소서에서는 이렇게 표현하였습니다. Apostle Paul expresses the love of the cross in his letter to the Ephesians. 

49. (엡 3:18) “능히 모든 성도와 함께 지식에 넘치는 그리스도의 사랑을 알고” “…(you) may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,” (Ephesians 3:18)

50. (엡 3:19) “그 너비와 길이와 높이와 깊이가 어떠함을 개달아 하나님의 모든 충만하신 것으로 너희에게 충만하게 하시기를 구하노라” “and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fulness of God.” (vv. 19)

51. 십자가의 사랑은 잴 수 없을 만큼 넓고, 길고, 높고, 깊기에 우리가 묵상하면 할 수록, 더 풍성함으로 저희를 인도합니다. The love of the cross knows no bounds in width, length, height, nor depth. The deeper we meditate upon it, it will lead us to more abundance.

52. 이 십자가 안에 모든 것이 다 담겨져 있습니다. Everything is contained in this cross.

53. 그래서 신앙 생활의 핵심, 모든 문을 열고 나아갈 수 있는 열쇄와 같은 것이 바로 이 십자가 입니다. Therefore, the cross is the core of Christian living, much like a key that is able to open every door and lead us out.

54. 십자가로 시작하고, 십자가로 계속하고, 십자가로 인도함 받을 때, 우리의 삶은 가장 넓게, 가장 길게, 가장 높게, 가장 깊게 나아갈 수 있는 것입니다. When we begin with the cross, continue in the cross, and become guided by the cross, our lives will become the widest, the longest, the highest, and the deepest they can be. 

55. 여러분, 십자가가 우리 삶의 핵심입니다. Hope members, the cross is the core of our lives.

[이 십자가는 바로 그리스도의 향기] The Cross is the Fragrance of Christ!

56. 우리는 지난 주일에 김용완 목사님 통하여 그리스도는 우리의 참된 향기라고 배웠습니다. We learned from Pastor Brandon’s message last Sunday that Christ is our true fragrance.

57. 그런데 그 그리스도께서 행하신 가장 중요한 것이 무엇이었죠?  네. 모든 능력을 다 갖고 계신 예수님께서는 그 능력을 십자가 순종, 십자가 죽음을 통해 나타내셨습니다. What is the most important thing that Jesus Christ has ever done? That’s right. Jesus, who held all power, revealed that power through his obedience and death on the cross.

58. 예수님의 삶에서 십자가는 핵심입니다. The cross is the core of the life of Jesus Christ.

59. 그래서 예수님은 자신을 표현하면서 이렇게 표현하셨습니다. This is why Jesus introduced himself in this way:

60. (막 10:45) “인자가 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라” “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)

61. 예수님은 자신 인생의 핵심, 즉 십자가의 삶을 정확하게 아시고, 그 길만이 자신 인생의 목표임을 명확하게 말씀해 주셨던 것입니다. Jesus knew exactly his life purpose, that is, the life of the cross, and he clearly defined the way of the cross as the goal of his life.

62. 성경은 좀 더 구체적으로 십자가의 죽음은 예수님의 순종과 헌신의 사역으로, 그리고 그 예수님의 죽음으로부터의 부활은 하나님의 전능하신 생명의 사역으로 좀 더 구체적으로 표현하고 있습니다. The Bible specifically explains the death on the cross as the ministry of obedience and dedication of Jesus Christ, and the resurrection from the dead as the ministry of the life of the almighty God. 

63. 행 2:36 “그런즉 이스라엘 온 집은 확실히 알지니 너희가 십자가에 못 박은 이 예수를 하나님이 주와 그리스도가 ‘되게’ 하셨느니라’ “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has ‘made’ this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” (Acts 2:36)

64. 빌 2:8 “자기를 낮추시고 죽기까지 복종하셨으니 곧 십자가에 죽으심이라” “이러므로 하나님이 그를 지극히 높여 모든 이름 위에 뛰어난 이름을 주사…”  “He humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross.” “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name.” (Philippians 2:8b-9)

65. 이 두 구절로 부터 예수님의 십자가 죽으심의 순종과, 죽음으로부터 부활케 하시는 성부 하나님의 사역이 구분됨을 알 수 있습니다. These two different passages distinguish Jesus’ obedience of death on the cross from the work of God who raised Jesus from the dead.

66. 예수님은 십자가의 길, 그 한 길만을 유일하게 목표로 걸어 가셨을 때, 구원이라는 가장 중요한, 엄청난 사역을 감당하시게 된 것입니다. Because Jesus faithfully walked the path of the cross and kept that path as his one and only aim, he was able to accomplish the most important and incredible work of salvation. 

67. (그림) 그리스도의 향기 & 예수님의 십자가 (제가 설명)

[우리는 누구입니까?  제자 아닙니까? Who Are We? We Are His Disciples, Aren’t We?

68. 여러분과 저, 우리는 누구입니까? You and I, who are we?

69. 예수 그리스도의 제자 아닙니까?  Aren’t we Jesus’ disciples?

70. 그렇다면 제자된 우리가 해야 할 가장 중요한 일, 어쩌면 유일한 자세는 무엇일까요? What must we do then as his disciples? What is the most important and possibly the only way of life we must live?

71. 예수님께서 핵심으로 가지셨던 그 길, 그 길만을 걸어가는 것 아니겠습니까? Shouldn’t our way of life be to take the path that Jesus considered as the core of his life?

72. 이것을 사도 바울은 예수 그리스도를 따르는 제자로서 우리가 제일 먼저 맞게 되는 것이 바로 십자가의 예수님임을 분명하게 설명, 선포하고 있습니다. Apostle Paul clearly explains and declares that as disciples who follow Jesus Christ, the very first thing that we must encounter is the Jesus of the cross. 

73. 10절. ‘우리가 항상 예수의 죽음을 몸에 짋어 짐은 예수의 생명이 또한 우리 몸에 나타나게 하려 함이라” “We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” (2 Corinthians 4:10)

74. 분명히 이 구절에서 예수의 생명, 즉 부활은 반드시 나타나야 하고, 나타나게 될 것이라는 사실을 말합니다. This passage clearly says that the life of Jesus, that is, our resurrection, must be and will be revealed in our body.

75. 그러나 그렇게 되기 위해서는 우리가 해야 할 일은 예수의 죽음, 즉 십자가의 삶을 항상 몸에 짊어 지듯이 그렇게 예수님의 십자가 삶을 살아야 한다는 것을 말합니다. In order for this to happen, however, we first have to live the life of the cross of Jesus, just as we carry around in our body the death of Jesus.   

76. 이를 11절에 이렇게 표현합니다.  “우리 살아있는 자가 항상 예수를 위하여 죽음에 넘겨짐은 예수의 생명이 또한 우리 죽을 육체에 나타나게 하려 함이라” It reads in verse 11, “For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body.” 

77. 우리의 죽을 육체에 예수의 생명이 나타난다고 했습니다.  부활이 있다는 것은 완전히 다른 삶을 말합니다.  그것은 세상에 줘야 할 능력이고 기쁨이고 소망입니다. It says the life of Jesus will be revealed in our mortal body. Resurrection signifies a totally different life. It is power, joy, and hope that we must offer to the world. 

78. 그런데 그 능력은 바로 십자가로 부터 시작되는 것입니다. Such power originates from the cross. 

79. 그래서 성도는 예수 앞으로, 즉 십자가 앞으로 나아가야 합니다. Therefore we Christians must draw near to Jesus; we must draw near to the cross.

80. (그림) 여기 향수병이 있습니다. Here is a bottle of fragrance.

81. 우리가 예수 그리스도라는 향기를 받기 위해서 제일 먼저 해야 할 일은 무엇일까요? What is the first thing we must do to receive the fragrance of Jesus Christ?

82. [1] 먼저 향수병 안에 있는 더러운 것을 비워야 합니다. We must first empty the fragrance bottle of its dirty contents.

83. 더러운 내용물이 있는데 향수를 담으면 향수의 가치는 떨어 집니다. If we pour fragrance oil into a bottle that is still dirty, we end up devaluing the fragrance.  

84. 본문 2절에 ‘하나님의 말씀을 혼잡하게 하지 아니하고 오직 진리를 나타내라’고 했습니다. Verse two says that “we should not distort the word of God, but we should set forth the truth plainly.” 

85. 여기서 ‘혼잡’이라는 표현은 향수에 더러운 물을 타서 향수의 가치를 떨어 뜨리거나, 못쓰게 만드는 ‘혼합’을 의미합니다. Here the Greek word, “distortion” was used in non-biblical sources to speak of the dishonest business practice of diluting wine with water. It signifies “mixing,” devaluing the fragrance by diluting it with dirty water.   

86. 내 안에 있는 인간의 선함, 노력, 능력은 참된 사랑, 참된 능력이 아닙니다. My own goodness, efforts, and strength are not true love and power.

87. 나를 먼저 온전히 비워야 우리는 참된 향기, 예수 그리스도를 온전히 받게 됩니다. Only when we completely empty ourselves—only then can we fully receive the true fragrance that is Jesus Christ. 

 

88. [2] 두번째는 향수를 빈 나의 통안에 채움 받아야 합니다. Second, we who are emptied bottles must be filled. 

89. 그러기 위해서는 날마다 우리는 그리스도께로 나아가야 합니다. For that, we must go to Jesus Christ every day.

90. 새아침 기도회를 저희가 매일 새벽에 드리는데요, 그 이유는 그리스도의 향기를 받기 위함입니다. We have daily morning prayers online at 6:30am. We do so to receive the fragrance of Christ.

91. 하루라도 주님으로 채움 받지 않으면 결코 참된 향기를 세상에 줄 수 없음을 고백합니다. We confess that we cannot offer his fragrance to the world unless we are filled with the Lord every day.

92. 날마다, 매 순간마다 주님 앞으로, 십자가 앞으로 나아갈 때, 십자가의 그 놀라운 풍성함, 사람에게 힘이 되고, 사람을 살리는 향기로 채움 받게 됩니다. We must come before the Lord and come before the cross every moment of every day. When we do so, we can be filled with the wonderful abundance of the cross and be filled with his fragrance that strengthens and saves people.  

93. 내 안에 그리스도로 온전히 채움 받아서, 흘러 넘치는 순간이 될 때까지 우리는 기도자리를 떠나서는 안됩니다.  예배 자리를 떠나서는 안됩니다. We must never stop praying until we become filled with Christ and overflow with him. We must never stop worshiping Him.  

 

94. [3] 자, 채움 받았으면 그 다음 뭘해야 할까요? Third, what must we do after we are filled with the Lord? 

95. 네.  세상으로 가야 합니다.  더러운 냄새로 가득찬 세상으로 향해 나아가야 합니다. That’s right. We must go to the world. We must go out into this world filled with filthy smells.

96. 그리고 우리의 뚜껑을 열고, 우리 안에 가득찬 주님의 향기를 세상에 나눠야 합니다. Then we must open ourselves and share the fragrance of the Lord with the world.

97. 그래야 패배자로 가득차고, 마음에 고통과 입에 쓴 냄새, 더러운 죄의 냄새로 가득찬 세상을 맑게, 깨끗하게 할 수 있습니다. We can make the world clean and pure—even this world that is filled with miserable wretches, the smell of suffering hearts and unwholesome talk, and the smell of filthy sins.   

98. 세상과 교회들은 지금 정치적으로, 신앙의 다른 색깔로, 다른 세대로, 다른 문화로 온통 분리가 심해지고, 미움과 다툼이 심해지고 있습니다. The world and churches nowadays are sharply divided by politics, denominations, generations, and cultures, and the resulting divisions and bitter hatreds are getting worse. 

99. 미국은 11월 3일 대통령 선거를 앞두고 어쩌면 더 많은 혼란이 예상되는 상황입니다. The presidential election is scheduled for November 3, less than a month away from now. We may expect much more chaos and confusion.

100. 분단국가인 한민족은 각자 다른 정치적 이념으로 인해서 한쪽은 태극기로, 한쪽은 촛불 그룹으로 나뉘어져 그 분리는 더 심해져 가는 모습입니다. Our mother nation, Korea, is also deeply divided into two political factions, the conservative and the progressive. 

101. 신앙인으로서 개인의 입장 따라 정치나 문화의 영역을 향하여 다양한 관점을 가질 수 있습니다. We may have different opinions and perspectives regarding politics and culture.

102. 그래서 태극기 그룹 안에서도 신앙인이 있고, 촛불 그룹 안에서도 신앙인이 있습니다. There are Christians on the conservative side as well as on the progressive side.

103. 신앙인으로서 민주당 후보에게 투표할 수 있고, 공화당 후보에게 투표 할 수 있습니다. We Christians might vote either for the Democratic candidate or the Republican candidate. 

104. (그림) 그러나 신앙인으로서 반드시 점검해야 합니다.  내가 어느 그룹에 있든, 내가 어느 입장을 가지든 나의 입장은 ‘십자가’에서 출발했는가… However, we must examine ourselves as Christians: Whichever side I find myself on and whichever perspective I may have, did my perspective begin at the cross or not?  

105. (그림) 어느 그룹이든 그 안에 계시는 신앙인으로 인해, 십자가가 가장 중요한 핵심, 가치, 원리로 선포되는가… Whatever the group is, are the Christians in that group proclaiming the cross as the most important core message, value, and principle? 

106. (그림) 십자가의 향기가 유일한 진짜 향기이기에, 악취 나는 세상에 참된 향기가 진정으로 발휘되고 있는가… Because the fragrance of the cross is the only true fragrance, we must examine whether or not the cross’ fragrance is effectively influencing and permeating this smelly world. 

[이제 결론입니다.] Conclusion

107. 이렇게 맘껏 이 세상에 유일한 향기, 십자가의 향기를 발하기 위해서 우리가 해야 할 일이 무엇일까요? What will be our next step in spreading the only true fragrance of the cross everywhere into the world?

108. 여러분, 매일 일어나서 샤워하고, 로션 바르듯이, 어디 나가기 전에 좋은 향수 뿌리듯이, 우리는 날마다 십자가 앞으로 나아가야 합니다. Beloved Hope members, just as we put on lotion and fragrance every day, we must come before the cross every day.

109. (그림) 마치 광야 백성들이 아침에 일어나자 마자 성막과 구름 기둥을 보게 되었듯이, 그리고 성막 앞으로 나아갈 때 제일 먼저 만나는 것이 번제단이듯이, 우리는 십자가 예수 그리스도를 먼저 만나야 합니다. The Israelites saw the Tabernacle and the pillar of cloud first thing in the morning and they saw the altar of burnt offering when they came to the Tabernacle. Likewise, we must first meet Jesus Christ. 

110. (그림) 그러면 번제단을 넘어 성소의 풍성함으로, 지성소의 거룩함으로, 열방의 선교자로 저희를 인도하십니다. He will then lead us to the abundance of the Holy Place, to the holiness of the Most Holy Place, and to the mission for all the nations. 

111. (그림) 이 모든 출발은 바로 번제단, 즉 십자가에서 시작합니다. All this should start from this altar, that is, the cross.

112. (그림) 번제물의 연기가 하나님께는 향기가 되었듯이, 성도의 십자가 삶은 하나님만 의지하고, 하나님만 기뻐 한다는 하나님께 드리는 향기입니다. As the burnt offering made by fire became an aroma pleasing to God, our cross-centered life is an aroma pleasing to God. 

113. 주님의 향기로 우리가 가득, 온전히 채움 받을 때, 우리는 어디를 가든, 누구를 만나든, 어떤 상황이 되든, 언제든지 주님의 향기만을 전할 수 있습니다. Only when we are filled with the fragrance of the Lord can we always share his fragrance wherever we are, with whomever we meet, and under any circumstance. 

114. (그림) 지금 세상은 이 향기가 필요합니다. The world is now in need of this fragrance. 

115. (그림) 주님의 향기가 아니고서는 더러운 악취나는 세상을 해결할 수 없습니다. Without the fragrance of the Lord, we cannot provide God’s solution to this world that is full of filthy smells of death.

 

116. (그림) 그래서 저는 설교 서두에 시작한 우리 교회 로고를 함께 나누기를 원합니다. I would like to share with you our church’s logo.  

117. 십자가만이 인생의 핵심입니다.  십자가 만이 그리스도의 향기 입니다.  십자가만이 세상이 진정으로 필요한 향기 입니다. Only the cross is the core of our lives. Only the cross is the fragrance of Christ. The cross is the only true fragrance that the world desperately needs. 

118. 우리는 그리스도의 십자가 앞으로 날마다 나아가야 합니다. 우리 교회 로고는 바로 십자가 앞으로 나아가는 우리 모든 성도님들의 삶을 의미합니다. We must go to the cross of Jesus Christ every day. This logo signifies all of our Hope members coming toward the cross. 

119. 날마다, 매 순간 십자가 앞으로 나아가시기를 주님의 이름으로 기도 드립니다. I sincerely pray in the name of our Lord that we may come near the cross in every moment and every day of our lives.
