(사순절 8일째)

경계선을 넘어서…

“예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 여자여 네 믿음이 크도다 네 소원대로 되리라 하시니…”(마 15:28)

예수께서 부르짖는 간구를 들으시고 귀신 들린 딸을 고쳐주신 그 여인은 가나안 여인이었습니다.  두로와 시돈 지방에 사는 이방 여인이었습니다.

유대인 남자로서 이방 여인의 간구를 외면치 않으시고, 들으시고, 응답하셨던 것입니다.

종종 우리는 문화와 이념, 전통과 습관, 사회 통념과 사회적 관계라는 우리가 스스로 세워놓은 울타리에 갇혀서 더 중요한, 더 본질적인 영혼구원이라는 가장 중요한 우선순위의 일을 외면하거나 제외할 때가 있습니다.

그러나 예수님은 그 경계선을 넘으셨습니다.  하늘 보좌를 버리시고 이 땅에 오시고, 가장 낮은 곳까지 오신 그 성육신의 삶으로 이 땅에 잘 못 그어진 경계선을 넘으셨습니다.

그렇게 경계선을 넘어서심으로 우리를 경계선 안으로, 

하나님 안으로 이끌어 주셨습니다.

예수님 안에 경계선은 없습니다.  

“수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아, 다 내게로 오라…”(마 11:28)

Beyond the Boundaries...

“Then Jesus answered her, ‘Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.’” (Matthew 15:28)

The woman whose demon-possessed daughter was healed by Jesus after she cried out to Him was a Canaanite, a Gentile woman living in the region of Tyre and Sidon.

As a Jewish man, Jesus did not ignore the plea of a Gentile woman; He listened and responded to her.

Often, we find ourselves confined within the fences we have erected of culture and ideology, tradition and habit, societal norms, and social relationships, neglecting or excluding the most important priority of soul salvation, which is more significant and essential.

However, Jesus crossed those boundaries. He left the heavenly throne to come to this earth, and through the incarnation, coming to the lowest places, He crossed the wrongly drawn lines on this earth.

By crossing such boundaries, He has led us within the boundaries,

into God Himself.

In Jesus, there are no boundaries.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
