눈이 뜨여 졌습니까?

“한 가지 아는 것은 내가 맹인으로 있다가 지금 보는 그것이니이다”(요한 9:25b)

태어나면서부터 맹인이었던 사람은 주님에 의해 눈이 뜨여지는 놀라운 경험을 체험합니다.  그는 육적인 눈 뿐만 아니라 ‘주여 내가 믿나이다’(38)라고 고백함으로서 예수를 그리스도로 고백하는 영적 눈까지 뜨게 되었습니다.

그러나 바리새인들은 안식일의 형식적 규례에만 얽매여서 안식일에 눈을 뜨게 하는 예수님을 비판만 하고, 태어나면서부터 소경된 자가 눈을 뜨게 되는 상황을 보고도 애써 외면하고 부정하는 모습을 보여 줍니다.

그들은 눈을 뜨고 있었지만, 실은 꼭 봐야 할 삶의 본질, 원천, 능력의 근원, 살아계신 하나님을 보지 못하는 영적 소경이었던 것입니다.

예수님을 그리스도로 이해하고, 보고, 의지하고, 따를 때 비로소 우리는 제대로 보는 사람이 되는 것입니다.

나의 눈은 뜨여 졌습니까?

Have Your Eyes Been Opened?

"One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see." (John 9:25b)

A person who had been blind from birth experiences the astonishing miracle of having his eyes opened by the Lord. Not only were his physical eyes opened, but by confessing "Lord, I believe" (38), he also gained the spiritual sight to recognize Jesus as the Christ.

However, the Pharisees, bound by the formal regulations of the Sabbath, criticized Jesus for healing on the Sabbath and deliberately ignored and denied the reality of a man born blind gaining sight.

Although they had physical sight, they were spiritually blind to the essence of life, its source, and the power of the living God, which they should have truly seen.

Only when we understand, see, rely on, and follow Jesus as the Christ do we truly become people who can see.

Have my eyes been opened?
