[말씀묵상 366 / 사도행전 37] 행 17:1-15 (060624) "강력한 복음전파를 위한 선교 전략은...?"

2차 선교 여행을 하면서 사도 바울의 선교지는 더 지리적으로, 상황적으로 더 확대되고 더 복잡, 다양해 집니다.  이럴 때 꼭 점검해야 할 것이 선교 전략입니다.  암비볼리나 아볼로니아는 추정상 유대인 회당이 없기에 바울은 전략적으로 유대인의 회당이 있는 데살로니가를 거점으로 삼고 최소 3주를 지나면서 말씀을 강론합니다.  

신앙생활이나 선교사역을 맹목적으로 할 수 없습니다.  신앙은 맹신이 되어서는 안됩니다.  하나님께서 창조하신 질서를 연구하면서 질서와 논리를 추구함으로 창조 질서를 만드신 하나님을 이해하게 됩니다.  그러나 그 위에 계시는 하나님을 믿고 의지하는 초자연적 영역도 있음을 깨달아야 합니다.  이렇듯 선교사역에서도 치밀한 점검과 전략이 필요합니다.

첫째, 예수가 '주와 그리스도'이심을 전파해야 합니다(1-3).  사도행전에 나타나는 모든 사도들의 메세지 핵심은 구약을 다시 해석하게 하는 것입니다.  구약에도 은혜가 나오며, 십자가의 은혜의 핵심인 메시야를 예수로 해석하고, 이해시키고, 고백하도록 하는 것이 핵심 메시지 내용이었습니다.  예수가 '주와 그리스도'이심은 구약과 신약, 성경 전체의 핵심입니다.  초대교회 뿐만 아니라, 모든 역사에 다 적용되는 핵심입니다.  이 내용은 타협없는 본질이고 불변의 진리입니다.  선교 전략에서 본질을 타협해서는 안됩니다.  주 예수 그리스도 안에 생명이 있기 때문입니다.

둘째, 거꾸로 된 세상을 다시 제대로 잡는(upside down) 자세가 필요합니다(4-8).  타락이후 창조 때 하나님께서 주신 방향, 원리, 질서 등의 많은 영역이 '거꾸로' 되었습니다.  물론 일반은총의 영역이 있음도 인정해야 합니다.  그러나 구원을 위한 모든 원리와 방향은 거꾸로 되었습니다.  하나님이 아닌 인간 중심으로, 하나님이 아닌 물질과 쾌락과 명예를 추구 목표로, 남보다 더 높게 가려고 하는 자세 등 등... 신앙인은 그냥 세상을 뒤집어 엎는 자들이 아니라, 거꾸로 된 세상을 제대로 다시 본래대로 회복케 하는 자들입니다.  이 사역은 반드시 해야 합니다.  그래야 세상이 정상이 됩니다.  그래서 이 '뒤집어 엎는 사역'이 선교 전략에서 중요합니다.

셋째, 말씀에 대한 이해와 자세를 바르게 해 주어야 합니다(9-15).  결국 말씀이 길이요, 진리입니다.  그 진리를 깨달아야 참 자유가 보장됩니다.  베뢰아 사람들은 더 너그럽고(열린 마음), 간절하고(진리를 향한 열망), 상고하고(아나크리노, 꼼꼼히 말씀연구), 그리고 날마다(정기적으로) 말씀을 대했습니다.  진리에 대한 이러한 자세가 필요합니다.  선교는 말씀을 제대로 보는 눈을 열어 주는 것입니다.  선교자나 선교단체의 역량을 보여 주는 것이 아닙니다.  말씀, 즉 진리 되시는 삼위일체 하나님과 그 하나님의 뜻을 알도록 눈을 뜨게 해 주는 것입니다.  내가 진실한 신앙인이 되기 위해서 먼저 말씀을 진지하게 대해야 합니다.  그리고 선교현장에서도 말씀의 중요성을 강조해야 합니다.  아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않는 것이 말씀입니다.  왜냐하면 살았고 운동력이 있고, 우리의 영과 혼과 관절과 골수를 찔러 쪼개는 것이기 때문입니다.

강력한 선교 전략을 세우기 위해서

선교적 삶을 살아가는 나 자신이 먼저 그 선교 전략대로 살아야 합니다.

선교는 말이 아니라, 선교자의 마음과 삶과 자세를 나누는(선포하는) 것이기 때문입니다.

During his second missionary journey, Apostle Paul's mission field expanded both geographically and situationally, becoming more complex and diverse. At such times, it is crucial to reassess mission strategies. Since there were no synagogues in Amphipolis or Apollonia, Paul strategically chose Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue, as his base and preached there for at least three weeks.

We cannot engage in faith life or missionary work blindly. Faith should not become blind faith. By studying the order created by God and seeking order and logic, we come to understand God, who created this order. However, we must also recognize the supernatural realm that exists beyond this. Similarly, in missionary work, careful assessment and strategy are necessary.

First, we must proclaim that Jesus is 'Lord and Christ' (1-3). The core message of all apostles in Acts is to reinterpret the Old Testament. They showed that grace appears in the Old Testament and that the core of grace, the Messiah, is interpreted as Jesus. The key message was to help people understand and confess that Jesus is 'Lord and Christ'. This is the core of both the Old and New Testaments and the entire Bible. It applies not only to the early church but throughout all history. This content is a non-negotiable essence and an immutable truth. In mission strategy, the essence should not be compromised because life is found in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Second, we need an attitude that seeks to turn the world right-side up (4-8). Many areas of direction, principles, and order given by God at creation have been 'turned upside down' since the fall. We must acknowledge the realm of common grace. However, all principles and directions for salvation have been reversed. The focus shifted from God to humans, from God to the pursuit of materialism, pleasure, and honor, and to an attitude of striving to be superior to others. Believers are not those who simply turn the world upside down but are those who restore the world to its original state. This mission is essential to make the world normal again. Thus, this 'upside-down work' is crucial in mission strategy.

Third, we must provide the correct understanding and attitude toward the Word (9-15). Ultimately, the Word is the way and the truth. Understanding this truth guarantees true freedom. The Bereans were more open-minded (open hearts), earnest (zeal for the truth), examining (anakrino, meticulous Bible study), and engaged with the Word daily (regularly). Such an attitude toward the truth is necessary. Mission work is about opening the eyes to see the Word correctly. It is not about showcasing the capabilities of missionaries or mission organizations. It is about helping people know the Triune God and His will. To become a true believer, I must first seriously engage with the Word. And in the mission field, the importance of the Word must be emphasized. The Word cannot be overemphasized because it is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating to the division of soul and spirit, joints and marrow.

To establish a powerful mission strategy,

I must first live according to that mission strategy in my missional life.

Mission work is not just about words; it is about sharing (proclaiming) the heart, life, and attitude of the missionary.
