[9월 찬양과 기도의 밤으로 초대 합니다!]

지난 8월 말에 시편 132편을 묵상하면서 크게 깨달은 내용이 있습니다.  그것은 시온이 하나님께서 '쉬시는 곳'이라는 표현이었습니다.

"이는 내가 영원히 쉴 곳이라 내가 여기 거주할 것은 이를 원하였음이로다"(시 132:14)

보통 우리는 내면 깊숙한 곳에는 주일 예배나 성도들의 모임인 집회에 참석할 때 뭔가 깨닫고, 얻기 위하여... 아니면 성도로서 예배 혹은 집회라는 의무를 다하기 위하여... 아니면 교회 공동체를 잘 세우기 위하여... 등과 같은 인간 중심적인 생각을 하기 쉽습니다.

솔직히 저도 그런 마음이 들 때가 많습니다.  '이번 예배/집회를 통하여 성도님들이 큰 힘을 얻기를 원합니다...'  물론 하나님께서 함께 하시면 능력과 격려를 주십니다.  하나님께서도 원하시는 것입니다.

그러나 시편 132편 14절을 읽으면서 '성도들의 예배/집회를 통해 하나님도 쉬신다'는 내용을 읽으면서, 하나님께서 정말로 성도들의 예배, 찬양과 경배를 통해 하나님께도 기쁨과 안식이 임하신다는 사실을 깨달았을 때...

마치 불효자가 자기 중심의 생각에서 벗어나 부모님 중심으로 생각과 자세를 바꾸면서 갖게 되는 효자로의 변화 자각을 깨닫게 되었습니다.

그렇습니다.  주일 예배 및 한달에 한번 드리는 '찬양과 기도의 밤'에 하나님도 안식하십니다.  하나님도 쉬십니다. ^^

부모가 언제 진짜 쉬게 됩니까?  제가 자녀를 길러 보니 알겠더라구요... 자녀들과 같이 다 모여서 같이 '밥먹고 교제할 때'입니다.  음식을 준비하고, 마련하는 과정 조차 즐겁고 기쁜 것이 부모의 심정입니다.

하나님도 그러하리라 믿습니다.  저는 저희 앤아버 소망 교회가 하나님을 '진정으로' 기쁘시게 하는 교회가 되기를 소망합니다.  그것이 순수한 교회입니다.  

하나님께서 기뻐하시는 것이 참된 능력이라 믿습니다.  아버지 하나님께서 기뻐하실 때 기쁨의 임재만큼 자녀된 성도에게 강력한 것은 없다고 믿습니다. 영광의 임재로 함께 하실 것입니다.

새 학기를 시작하면서 이러한 진정한 영성으로 무장하기를 원합니다.  그 하나님의 임재, 영광의 충만, 그리고 하나님께서 기뻐하시는 시간이 될 때, 우리의 기도는 '교제의 기도'가 될 것이고 하나님의 마음에 합당한 '중보의 기도' 시간이 될 것입니다.

그러할 때, 이 땅에서 하늘이 연결되는, 그래서 하늘에서 주님의 뜻이 이루어 진것 같이, 땅에서도 이루어지는 참된 '빛의 밤'이 될 것입니다.

9월 5일 금요일 저녁 8시, 온 세대, 온 언어, 온 민족이 함께 하나님께 참된 쉼을 드리는 귀한 자리로 함께 합시다!

[You Are Invited to the September Night of Praise and Prayer!]

At the end of August, while meditating on Psalm 132, I came to a deep realization. It was the expression that Zion is the place where God rests.

“This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.” (Psalm 132:14)

Often, deep inside, when we attend Sunday worship or gatherings of believers, we tend to think in human-centered ways—such as wanting to gain insight, to fulfill our duty as Christians by attending worship, or to strengthen the church community.

Honestly, I often find myself thinking the same way: “Through this worship or gathering, I hope the congregation will be encouraged and strengthened…” Of course, when God is present, He does bring power and encouragement. That is indeed His desire.

But as I read Psalm 132:14, I was struck by this truth: God Himself rests through the worship and gatherings of His people. I realized that worship, praise, and adoration from the saints actually bring joy and rest to God.

It felt like the moment a self-centered child recognizes their need to turn from their own perspective and begin to live with a parent-centered heart—becoming a truly filial child.

Yes, even in our Sunday worship and in the monthly Night of Praise and Prayer, God also rests. God also finds refreshment. ^^

When do parents truly rest? From my own experience as a father, I’ve learned: it is when the children all gather together, share a meal, and enjoy fellowship. Even the preparation—the cooking, the setting of the table—is filled with joy for the heart of a parent.

I believe God is the same way. My hope for our Ann Arbor Hope Church is that we would be a church that truly brings joy to God. That is what makes a church pure.

I believe what pleases God is the source of true power. When our Father God delights in His children, nothing is more powerful for us than the joy of His presence. His glorious presence will be with us.

As we begin a new semester, I pray that we would clothe ourselves with this true spirituality. When God’s presence, His glory, and His delight are revealed, our prayers will become prayers of communion, and our intercession will align with His very heart.

In those moments, heaven will touch earth—so that just as His will is done in heaven, it will also be done on earth. That is when it becomes a true Night of Light.

On Friday, September 5th, at 8:00 PM, let us gather as one people—every generation, every language, every nation—to offer God true rest!
