(고린도전서 3:1-15)

성숙도는 관계에서 드러납니다.  시기와 분쟁의 자세를 갖는 다는 것은 아직 어린 아이 신앙 단계를 말합니다(1-3).  이런 단계는 자기 중심적 자세, 남을 인정하지 않고, 협력하지 않는 미성숙한 모습을 갖습니다(3-4).

그러나 각자 다른 은사와 소명을 서로 인정하고, 한 하나님에 의해서 다양하게 인도함 받음을 인정하며, 서로 함께 세워 갈 때 성숙한 공동체가 됩니다(6-9).

중요한 것은 이런 성숙한 공동체의 출발은 오직 하나님의 은혜, 즉 그리스도라는 영원한 구원의 터전 위에 세워져야 합니다(10-11).  십자가 은혜 위에 세워진 공동체는 어떤 고난도 이겨내는 영원한 구원 공동체이기 때문입니다(12-15).

우리 앤아버 소망 교회 공동체가 주님 다시 오실 때, 그 앞에 모두 함께 서는 ‘영원 공동체’가 되기를 간절히 소망합니다!

(1 Corinthians 3:1–15)

Spiritual maturity is revealed in relationships. Having an attitude of jealousy and quarrels indicates that one is still at the stage of spiritual infancy (vv. 1–3). This stage is characterized by self-centeredness, an unwillingness to recognize others, and a lack of cooperation—signs of spiritual immaturity (vv. 3–4).

However, a community becomes mature when its members acknowledge one another’s different gifts and callings, recognize that God leads each person in diverse ways, and work together to build one another up (vv. 6–9).

Most importantly, such a mature community must be built solely on God’s grace—the eternal foundation of salvation, which is Christ Himself (vv. 10–11). A community founded upon the grace of the cross becomes an eternal community of salvation that can endure and overcome every trial (vv. 12–15).

It is my earnest prayer that our Ann Arbor Hope Church family will become an eternal community, standing together before the Lord when He returns!
