(이사야 1:21-31) 여호와께로 돌아가자!

(이사야 1:21-31)

하나님의 가장 큰 뜻은 ‘회복’입니다(26).  그러나 참된 회복을 위해서는 구체적이며 정직한 심판의 경고를 먼저 하십니다.  성적인 타락과 공의의 무너짐(21), 부정과 부패(22-23) 등에 대해 하나님은 정직하게, 강력하게 경고하십니다.

그리고 그 타락의 결과는 패망과 멸망이며(28), 부끄러움과 수치가 될 것입니다(29).  잎사귀 마른 상수리 나무처럼, 물 없는 동산처럼 황폐하게 될 것이며(30), 너무나 무력하게 무너지게 될 것이고, 그 심판의 형벌은 너무나 강력하여 그 누구도 해결할 수 없게 될 것입니다(31).

여호와 하나님께로 돌아갈 때 만이 참된 회복이 가능합니다(28).  죄를 이길 수 있는 유일한 길은 죄가 없으신 하나님께만 있기 때문입니다.

마지막 심판 날은 언제인지 아무도 모릅니다.  그래서, 오늘, 여호와께로 돌아갑시다.

God's greatest desire is restoration (v. 26). Yet before true restoration can take place, He first gives a clear and honest warning of judgment. God speaks directly and powerfully against Judah's moral corruption and the collapse of justice (v. 21), as well as its dishonesty and corruption (vv. 22–23).

The result of such rebellion will be destruction and ruin (v. 28), bringing shame and disgrace (v. 29). The people will become like an oak with withered leaves and like a garden without water (v. 30). They will fall in utter weakness, and God's judgment will be so severe that no one will be able to extinguish it or rescue them from it (v. 31).

True restoration is possible only when we return to the LORD (v. 28), for the only One who can overcome sin is the holy God who is without sin.

No one knows when the final day of judgment will come. Therefore, today, let us return to the LORD.
