(이사야 10:20-34) 남은자 사상

(이사야 10:20-34)

‘남은 자(remnant)’ 사상은 이사야 서에 반복되는 중요한 의미입니다.  사람이나 강력한 나라를 의지하지 않고, 오직 여호와만을 진실하게 의지하는 자(들)를 말합니다(20).

남은 자는 능하신 하나님께로 돌아온 자들입니다(21).  숫자의 많고 적음보다 중요한 것입니다(22).  하나님은 온 세계 중에, 끝까지 역사를 이끌어 가심으로 ‘남은자’만 하나님 나라 건설의 도구로 남기십니다(23).

그러므로 정작 두려워 해야 할 것은 앗수르나 애굽과 같은 강대한 나라가 아닙니다(24).  그런 강대국도 언젠가는 멸망합니다(24-25).  그런 강대국의 압박도 언젠가는 벗어지게 될 것입니다(27).

아무리 강대국의 압박이 크게 여겨져도(28-32), 만군의 여호와께서 반드시 남도록 하시는 그 하나님의 의지와 계획을 믿고, 오늘도 믿음과 은혜와 회개를 통하여 ‘남은자’에 속하도록 신앙의 순수를 지키며 나아가기를 소망합니다.

오늘도 '남은 자' 신앙으로 살아가기를 소망합니다.

The theme of the "remnant" is one of the recurring and significant messages throughout the book of Isaiah. It refers to those who do not rely on people or powerful nations, but instead place their sincere trust in the LORD alone (v. 20).

The remnant are those who have returned to the Mighty God (v. 21). What truly matters is not whether they are many or few (v. 22). As God sovereignly guides history to its appointed end, He preserves only the remnant as His instruments for building His kingdom (v. 23).

Therefore, what we should truly fear is not mighty nations such as Assyria or Egypt (v. 24). Even the greatest empires will one day come to an end (vv. 24–25), and the oppression they impose will also be removed in God's time (v. 27).

No matter how overwhelming the pressure of powerful nations may seem (vv. 28–32), may we trust in the sovereign will and plan of the LORD of Hosts, who faithfully preserves His remnant. Through faith, God's grace, and genuine repentance, may we continue to guard the purity of our faith so that we may belong to His remnant.

May we live today with the faith of the remnant.
