(이사야 14:24-15:9)
가장 강력하게 보이는 앗수르도(25), 반 앗수르 정책을 행하던 블레셋도(29) 완전하지 못합니다. 모압 또한 영원하지 못하며(15:1), 패배 이후에 모압인들이 아무리 종교적 행위로 열성을 다해도(15:2-4) 모압의 신은 살아있는 참된 신이 아니기에 아무런 도움을 주지 못합니다.
만군의 여호와 하나님만이 유일한 신이십니다. 그 분은 반드시 성취하시는 경영을 이룩하시는 분이십니다(24, 26-27, 32).
교회와 성도는 세상의 어떤 강력한 나라도 의지하지 말고, 오히려 하나님의 마음으로 그들을 위해 긍휼의 마음을 가져야 합니다(15:5-9).
나는 누구를 의지합니까? 어떤 나라를 더 의지합니까? 경영한 것을 반드시 이루시는 하나님만을 의지하는 매일, 매 순간의 삶을 살아가기를 간절히 원합니다(24).
“만군의 여호와께서 맹세하여 이르시되 내가 생각한 것이 반드시 되며 내가 경영한 것을 반드시 이루리라”(24)

Even mighty Assyria, which appeared to be the most powerful empire (14:25), and Philistia, which pursued an anti-Assyrian policy (14:29), were not invincible. Moab, too, was not eternal (15:1). After their defeat, the Moabites zealously devoted themselves to religious rituals (15:2–4), but their god could not help them because it was not the living and true God.
The LORD Almighty alone is the one true God. He is the God who always accomplishes what He has planned and fulfills every purpose He has ordained (14:24, 26–27, 32).
The church and God's people should not place their trust in any powerful nation of this world. Instead, we are called to have God's heart and show compassion toward them (15:5–9).
Whom do I trust? Which nation do I rely on more? My earnest prayer is that every day and every moment I would trust only in God, who unfailingly accomplishes all that He has planned (14:24).
"The LORD Almighty has sworn, 'Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand.'" (Isaiah 14:24)
