하이콘 어린이 Tutoring 자원자 모집

안녕하세요?
소망 교회는 지난 3-4년 전부터
앤아버 지역의 경제적으로 어려운 지역인
하이콘 지역을 매 주 수요일마다 저녁 식사 섬김으로
섬겨 오고 있습니다.
이 곳에는 30가구가 한 아파트 단지내에 살고 있는데
많은 경우 자녀들이
방치된 채 살아가고 있습니다.
부모님들이 생업 전선에 뛰어 들어야 되고
또 많은 경우가 역기능 가정이 많습니다.
이 곳 어린이들에게
맨토링도 하고
책도 읽어 주고
공부도 가르쳐 주는
그런 튜터링(과외) 자원자가 많이 필요합니다.

섬기실때 열매는 생각보다 큽니다. ^ ^
Greetings to all!
I am contacting those with whom I have had contact through United VBS. This week, I received an email from Aaron Pressler (director of Hikone Community Center) that I wanted to share with you. As you know, several children from the Hikone neighborhood attended 2009 VBS with great response. As a result of the current economy, the number of children receiving help at Hikone has increased significantly since the beginning of school. And one of the best ways to help and encourage the kids is by volunteering 1 hour/week for after school tutoring. Currently, there is critical need for tutors.
The tutoring program is completely run by volunteers. I can tell you from my observation that the students, from elementary through high school, are tremendously grateful for the volunteers who commit one hour each week to come in and provide one-on-one tutoring. The volunteer tutors range in age from high school students to college age to... middle age!
If you or someone you could recommend would be interested in committing one hour each week to tutor a deserving student, please contact me asap. The tutoring program runs Monday through Thursday afternoons. At this time there is critical need for volunteers on Tuesday afternoons, but other days as well. The schedule is as follows:
3:30-4:30 p.m. Tutoring for middle and high school students
4:30-5:30 p.m. Tutoring for elementary students.
