동아시아 이민 여성의 “우리들의 이야기: 우리에겐 극복할 수 있는 힘이 있다”

이민 여성들은 그들의 역할, 책임, 사회적 네트워크 등의 변화로 인해 더 많은 스트레스를 받습니다. 저희 연구팀은 일본과 한국으로부터 이주한 여성들의 삶과 스트레스에 대해 연구하고 있습니다. 본 연구는 이민 여성들이 자신의 건강 및 안녕에 대힌 결정을 내리는 데 도움을 주는 것을 목적으로 하고 있습니다.   

먼저 30분 정도의 온라인 설문조사를 다 마치시고 연락처를 제공하여 주시면, 5 달러의 기프트 카드를 우편으로 보내드릴 것입니다. 

추가 참여 기회: 이후 연구 지원자 자격에 해당하시는 여성분들께  그들의 삶과 건강에 대해 자세하게 살펴볼 수 있는1시간 정도의 인터뷰와 추가 설문조사에 초대할 것입니다.  그 이후에 재미있고 다양한 방법으로 구성된 그룹 프로그램에 참여하실 것을 요청드릴 것입니다.  그룹 프로그램은 이민 여성들의 스트레스를 이해하고 이를 긍정적으로 대처할 수 있도록 돕기 위해 구성되었습니다. 그룹 프로그램에서는  자신들의 이야기를 나누거나, 일반적인 이민 여성들의 삶과 스트레스에 대해 이야기할 수 있습니다. 각 그룹에는 통역을 돕는 사람들이 있을 것이며, 웰빙에 대한 책자도 제공할 것입니다.

일본 혹은 한국에서 태어나고, 본인의 학업이 아닌 이유로 미국에 거주하고 있는 21-45 세 여성 중에, 본 연구에 관심이 있으신 분들은 아래의 설문조사 링크를 통해 참여해 주십시오.

 East Asian Immigrant Women

“Telling our story: Remembering our Strength”

Immigrant women may have additional stress because of changes in their roles, responsibilities, and social networks.  We are doing a research study that focuses on the lives and stresses of East Asian women from Japan and Korea.  Participation in this study may help women make decisions about their health and wellbeing. 

We are asking participants to participate in a 30-minute online survey.  Women who complete the survey and give us contact information will receive a $5 gift card by mail. 

Additional opportunities:  Eligible women will be invited to participate in a one-hour interview that uses interesting methods to examine their lives and health in detail, along with a follow-up survey.   We also offer an energetic and interesting group program that can help women understand and cope positively with immigration stress.  Group members will have the option to discuss themselves personally, or to discuss stress and coping more generally.  Translators are in every group. Participants will receive a wellness handbook.
