2018 Dominican Republic Mission Trip

I was born and raised in Daegu, South Korea. In 2008, I decided to study in the United States after receiving God’s call to ministry. That’s how I started a new journey in New York City while studying at Nyack College. In 2010, I stretched my horizon, transferring to Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. I am a graduate of Calvin College (degree in Religion) and Calvin Theological Seminary (degree in Masters of Divinity). Upon graduating Calvin Seminary, I accepted a call to ministry at Ann Arbor Hope Church in October of 2015 and now serve as an Education Pastor overseeing Hanuri young adult group, OYC youth ministry, and Hope Church school.

I am a husband to my lovely wife, Soyeon Kim. We have passion for relational ministry with those whom God entrusts to us, using God’s gifts of serving and hospitality.Particularly, in the ministry for next generations, I highlight “Family Friendly Ministry”. The life of faith in the next generations has close relationship with the direction and orientation of their families. That means that church ministry should be encouraged to play a role as a bridge between parents and children.

  저는 2008년 목회를 향한 하나님의 부르심을 받고 미국으로 도미하여 뉴욕 나약대학교 (Nyack College) 에서 유학 생활을 시작한 후 2012 년 미시간 그랜드 래피즈에 있는 칼빈대학교 (Calvin College) 에서 종교 학부를 졸업하였습니다. 그리고 2015 년 5월 칼빈신학교 (Calvin Theological Seminary) 에서 3년 반의 목회학 석사 과정을 졸업하고 2015년부터 앤아버 소망교회에서 사역을 시작하고 현재는 하누리 청년부, 소망교회학교와 OYC 청소년부를 담당하고 있습니다.

가족 관계로는 아내 김소연) 가 있으며 아내와 함께 하나님이 맡겨주신 양들과 깊은 관계 중심적 사역을 위하여 하나님이 주신 섬김과 베품의 은사를 열정을 가지고 사용하기를 원합니다.

제가 특별히 자라나는 다음세대의 목회 사역에 있어서 강조하는 부분은 바로 “가족 중심적” 목회입니다. 다음 세대의 신앙과 신앙적 삶이 결코 가정과 분리될 수 없기에 교회학교와 청소년부 사역이 결코 부모님들과 자녀들을 분리시키는 것이 아닌 그들의 관계의 다리 역할을 해야한다는 것이 저희 목회 철학입니다.
