[목양 칼럼] 2월 14일, 어떤 날일까요?

네.  발렌타인 데이입니다.  

사랑하는 사람간에 자신의 마음을 표시하는 날입니다.

그러나 올해는 이보다 더 중요한 의미의 날이기도 합니다.

그것은 사순절이 시작하는 첫 날, 즉 '재의 수요일'(Ash Wednesday) 입니다.

이 날 부터 부활절인 3월 31일 전 날까지(즉 3월 30일)까지

주일을 제외한 날로 따지면 40일이 된다고 해서

사순절 기간으로 여깁니다(더 정확하게 얘기하면 성금요일인 3월 29일 전 날까지).

교회 역사적 관점에서 전통으로 지켜 왔기에 사순절을 지킨다는 의미도 있겠지만

출애굽때 유월절(1월 14일) 지키기 전에 3일 동안 자신의 집 문설주에 바를 어린양의 피를

묵상했듯이, 참된 성 금요일 & 부활주일을 맞이하기 전에 먼저 우리는

십자가 보혈, 은혜에 대해서 깊이 묵상해야 합니다.

그 묵상은 진실한 묵상이어야 합니다.  그래서 십자가를 깊게 살펴 보아야 하며

내 삶에서 십자가의 의미, 실천 및 적용의 측면 또한 전반적으로 함께 돌아 보아야 합니다.

그 일을 위해서 행하는 기간이 바로 2월 14일부터 3월 30일까지의 46일, 영혼 순례의 기간입니다.

이제 이 기간의 첫 날을 우리는 내일(2월 14일) 맞이하게 됩니다.

오늘 내가 이 영혼의 순례 46일을 어떻게 지낼 것인가... 한번 생각해 보고, 돌아보기를 원합니다.

[Pastoral Column] What day is February 14th?

Yes, it's Valentine's Day.

It's a day for people in love to express their feelings to each other.

However, this year, it holds an even more significant meaning.

It is the first day of Lent, known as 'Ash Wednesday'.

From this day until the day before Easter, March 31st (that is, March 30th),

excluding Sundays, it is considered the Lenten period for 40 days (more precisely, until the day before Good Friday, March 29th).

While there is a meaning in observing Lent as a tradition that has been followed from a historical church perspective,

just as the Israelites reflected on the blood of the lamb to be applied to their doorposts for three days before observing Passover (January 14th) during the Exodus, we too must deeply reflect on the blood of the cross and grace before truly facing Good Friday & Easter Sunday.

This reflection must be sincere. Thus, we must closely examine the cross and also review the meaning of the cross in our lives, its practice, and application in all aspects.

The 46 days from February 14th to March 30th serve as a period for this purpose, a pilgrimage of the soul.

We will welcome the first day of this period tomorrow (February 14th).

Today, I want to think about and reflect on how I will spend these 46 days of the soul's pilgrimage.

I want to share how we will walk this path on the first day of these 46 days.

The session will be conducted via Zoom for about 40-50 minutes, and guidance will be provided for personal meditation prayer time.

Even if you don't go to a place like the Camino de Santiago, I hope we can walk these 46 days of the soul's pilgrimage together with the heart of walking a pilgrimage in our everyday lives.
