(사사기 1:11-21) 우리와 함께 하시는 하나님 God is with us!

(사사기 1:11-21)
가나안 정복은 계속 됩니다. 기럇 세벨을 쳐서 점령하고 그 공으로 옷니엘은 자신의 형(혹은 삼촌) 갈렙의 딸인 악사와 결혼하게 됩니다. 그리고 악사는 재치있고 현명한 요청을 자신의 아버지 갈렙에게 행함으로 윗샘과 아랫샘을 다 받게 됩니다(11-15).
이스라엘 사람은 아니지만, 겐 사람인 모세의 장인 이드로도 가나안 정복에 동참하였고(16), 유다 지파는 여러 가나안 지역(17-18)과 높은 곳에 위치한 헤브론을 점령한 반면(20), 더 강력한 철병거 무기를 가진 골짜기 주민은 쫓아내지 못하게 됩니다(19).
그리고 베냐민 지파는 예루살렘에 거주하는 여부스 족속을 다윗 시대까지 쫓아내지 못한 상황이 되고 말았다고 사사기는 기록하고 있습니다(21).
크리스천에게 주어진 하나님 나라 건설의 삶은 오늘도 계속 되어야 합니다. 이 땅의 모든 영역에 건설되어야 하며, 세속 문화가 너무 강력하게 보인다고 겁먹고, 포기하지 말아야 합니다.
여호와 하나님께서 우리와 함께 하시기 때문입니다(19).
(Judges 1:11–21)
The conquest of Canaan continues. Israel attacks and captures Kiriath-sepher, and as a reward for his victory, Othniel marries Achsah, the daughter of his relative Caleb, who was either his older brother or his uncle. Achsah then makes a wise and thoughtful request of her father Caleb, and as a result, she receives both the upper and lower springs (11–15).
Although the Kenites were not Israelites, they also joined in the conquest of Canaan. Moses’ father-in-law, Jethro, was a Kenite, and his descendants participated in the conquest (16). The tribe of Judah captured various regions of Canaan (17–18), including Hebron, which was located in the hill country (20). However, they were unable to drive out the inhabitants of the valley because they had stronger weapons—iron chariots (19).
Judges also records that the tribe of Benjamin failed to drive out the Jebusites who lived in Jerusalem, and they remained there until the time of David (21).
The life of building the kingdom of God, which has been entrusted to Christians, must continue today. We are called to build God’s kingdom in every sphere of life. Even when secular culture appears extremely powerful, we must not be intimidated or give up.
For the LORD our God is with us (19).

삶의 모든 영역을 정복하라고 하나님께서 말씀하셨습니다. 가나안을 다 정복했을 때 온전한 열방 하나님 나라 건설의 온전한 전초 기지가 되듯이, 신앙인으로서 내 삶의 모든 영역(생각, 내면, 관계, 보이지 않는 영역, 문화, 사회, 정치, 생활, 지역 등 등)에 하나님으로 정복함을 묵상하였습니다.
100% 할 수는 없겠지만, 하나님의 능력을 최선 다해서 의지할 때 99%까지는 인도함 받으리라 믿습니다. 이는 성장과 성숙의 영역이고, 그리스도의 장성한 분량에 까지 자라는 것을 명령하셨기 때문입니다.
삶의 모든 영역 정복하기!
오늘 하루 종일 이런 저런 영역들을 접하면서 그러한 모든 영역에서 가능하면 하나님 나라 건설하며 살아야 겠다고 생각하였습니다. 몸이 아플 때도 있었고, 잔듸 깎고 집안일 하다가 너무 더워서 거의 쓰러질 뻔 하기도 하였고, 힘들고 어려운 상황의 분들 얘기 들을 때는 함께 가슴 아파하면서 듣고 나누지만, 실제적인 도움이 잘 되지 못하는 경우에도 하나님의 주권과 섭리를 인정하며 나아가게 되었습니다.
몇 달 째 눈이 정상적이지 않고, 계속 아프고, 연약한 것도 하나님 주권을 인정하며 하나님 나라의 위로와 소망을 의지할 때 아픔과 함께 동행하는 것도 배우게 됩니다.
어떤 중요한 사안을 미루는 내적 습관이 있는데, 이 부분도 돌아보며 저의 내면에 하나님 나라가 건설되기를 기도 드렸습니다.
삶의 모든 영역이 하나님의 주권과 섭리가 인도하시는 하나님 나라로 인도함 받기를 간절히 소망합니다.
(Reflection)
God has called us to take spiritual possession of every area of our lives. Just as the complete conquest of Canaan was to make Israel a strong and complete outpost for the building of God’s kingdom among the nations, I reflected on what it means, as a believer, to allow God to take full possession of every area of my life—my thoughts, inner life, relationships, unseen areas, culture, society, politics, daily life, local community, and so on.
I know that I cannot do this 100% perfectly, but I believe that as I do my very best to depend on God’s power, He will lead me toward 99%. This is a lifelong journey of growth and maturity, because we are commanded to grow into the full measure of the maturity of Christ.
Conquering every area of my life!
Throughout the day, as I encountered different areas and situations, I found myself thinking that I should seek to build God’s kingdom in each of them as much as possible. There were times when my body was not feeling well. At another point, while mowing the lawn and doing housework, I became so overheated that I almost collapsed. When I listened to people sharing about their difficult and painful circumstances, I could feel their pain with them and share their burdens, even though there were times when I could not offer much practical help. Yet, in those moments, I learned to move forward by acknowledging God’s sovereignty and providence.
For several months, my eyes have not been completely normal, and I have continued to experience discomfort and weakness. Yet even in this, as I acknowledge God’s sovereignty and rely on the comfort and hope of His kingdom, I am learning how to walk alongside the pain rather than simply trying to escape from it.
I also recognized an inward habit of putting off certain important matters. As I reflected on this part of my inner life, I prayed that God’s kingdom would be established even within me.
I earnestly desire that every area of my life may be guided into the kingdom of God, under His sovereignty and providence.
