갈망하십니까?

“너희 가난한 자는 복이 있나니 하나님의 나라가 너희 것임이요”(누가복음 6:20)

본문에서 가난함의 반대를 ‘하나님의 나라’로 표현했습니다.  즉, 하나님의 나라가 없는 상태를 가난함으로 표현했다고 볼 수 있습니다.  

가장 극한 가난은 어떤 것일까요?  물론 물질도, 정서도, 관계도 가난의 요소가 될 수 있습니다.  그러나 하나님의 나라가 없는 가난은 가장 극한 가난일 것입니다.  

그래서 본문의 가난함을 갈망의 극한치의 상태로 봄이 맞겠습니다.  세상 다 가져도 내 안에 절대자, 영원자, 창조자, 구속자 즉 삼위일체 하나님이 안 계시다면 아무 것도 없는 것이고, 가장 고독하고, 가장 불안한 존재일 것이기 때문입니다.

나에게 그런 하나님 나라, 하나님의 존재, 하나님과의 관계를 향한 열망, 갈망이 있습니까?

하나님의 나라가 하나님의 통치를 인정하고, 하나님과의 관계임을 기억할 때, 이 갈망은 ‘(현재)진행형’의 의미임을 알 수 있습니다.

나는 무엇을…누구를…  ‘지금’ 갈망하고 있습니까?

Do You Yearn?

"Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God." (Luke 6:20)

In this passage, the opposite of poverty is expressed as 'the kingdom of God'. In other words, the absence of the kingdom of God is described as poverty.

What could be the ultimate form of poverty? Of course, material, emotional, and relational deficiencies can all be aspects of poverty. However, the poverty of not having the kingdom of God would be the most extreme form of poverty.

Therefore, it is appropriate to view the poverty mentioned in the passage as a state of extreme yearning. Having everything in the world means nothing if the Absolute, the Eternal, the Creator, the Redeemer, in other words, the Trinity God is not within me. Without God, one would be the most lonely and anxious being.

Do you have such a longing, a yearning for the kingdom of God, for the presence of God, for a relationship with God?

When we remember that the kingdom of God involves acknowledging God's rule and being in a relationship with God, we can understand that this longing has a meaning of being "in progress".
