하나님이 더 이상 기억하시지 않으십니다!

“내가 그들의 악행을 사하고 다시는 그 죄를 기억하지 아니하리라 여호와의 말씀이니라”(예레미야 31:34b)

하나님께서 잊으신 것을 우리가 더 이상 기억할 필요가 없습니다.  우리 주변을 포류하던 죄책감은 불현듯 출몰하여 우리를 천천히 좌절의 늪에 빠지게 합니다.  이는 하나님께 계속해서 죄를 범하는 것입니다.  

하나님께서는 당신께 고백한 우리의 죄를 더 이상 기억하지 않으십니다.  그 죄는 더 이상 우리를 좌절하게 하지 못합니다.  우리는 자유합니다.

하나님의 선포는 절대적이고 영원하십니다.  하나님께서 동이 서에서 먼 것처럼, 봄이 되면 다 사라지는 눈처럼 그렇게 우리의 죄를 더 이상 기억하지 않으신다고 하십니다.  십자가의 보혈의 능력이 이처럼 강력하기 때문입니다.

이 보혈의 강력한 능력을 의지한다면, 우리는 나 자신을 향하여 용납해야 합니다.  

그리고 내 주위의 사람들을 향해서도 이러한 하나님의 선포에 기초하여 다가가야 합니다.   어떤 사람이라도 십자가 보혈을 의지함의 고백이 있을 때, 과거에 가졌던 선입견, 편견으로 계속 다가가기 보다는 ‘기억하지 않으시는 하나님의 마음’으로 다가가야 합니다.

고난주간을 넘어 부활절을 맞이할 때, 우리는 나자신의 부활 만이 아니라, 우리의 내면의 부활(새롭게 됨), 관계의 부활(새롭게 됨)도 함께 소망/체험하기를 기도드립니다.  

십자가 보혈의 능력이 그토록 강력하기에…

* 광고: 다음 고난주간(3/25-29, Holy Week or Passion Week) 동안 매일 저녁 함께 예배당에 모여 주님의 십자가를 더욱 깊게 묵상하고, 함께 기도하는 ‘공동체 묵상과 기도의 시간’을 갖습니다.  (월-목, 금요일은 성금요일 @ 모두 7:30 PM, 장소: 교회 예배당, 7:20 PM 에 오셔서 미리 개인 기도 하시면 됩니다)

God No Longer Remembers!

“I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” (Jeremiah 31:34b)

There's no need for us to remember what God has chosen to forget. Guilt that once haunted our surroundings can suddenly emerge, slowly dragging us into the swamp of despair. This is akin to continually sinning against God.

God no longer remembers the sins we have confessed to Him. Those sins can no longer lead us to despair. We are free.

God's proclamation is absolute and eternal. He says He will not remember our sins, just as the east is from the west, like the snow that disappears with the arrival of spring. This is possible because of the powerful efficacy of the blood of the cross.

Relying on this powerful efficacy of the blood, we must learn to forgive ourselves.

And we should approach those around us based on this proclamation from God as well. When someone relies on the confession of the cross's blood, instead of approaching them with past biases and prejudices, we should approach them with 'the heart of God who remembers no more.'

As we move beyond the Passion Week and into Easter, we pray not only for our resurrection but also for the resurrection within us (renewal) and the resurrection of our relationships (renewal).

Such is the mighty power of the blood of the cross…
