크고 은밀한 일

“너는 내게 부르짖으라 내가 네게 응답하겠고 네가 알지 못하는 크고 은밀한 일을 네게 보이리라”(예레미야 33:3)

미시간에 드디어 봄이 온 것 같습니다.  지난 10월 T국 단기 선교 이후 지독한 독감으로 인해 한 달 정도 힘들게 지내다 계속된 미시간의 겨울을 맞으며 그동안 몸도 약해 지고, 마음도 함께 힘을 잃은 듯한 겨울을 지냈습니다.  아무래도 몸과 마음은 연결된 듯 합니다. 

그러나 그러한 약함/고난 가운데에서도 신실하신 하나님은 역사하셨고, 사람의 약함을 넘어 하나님의 강함으로 언제나 인도해 주시고, 보호해 주시고, 공급해 주시는 하나님을 다시 한번 더 강력하게 깨닫는 지난 겨울이었습니다.

오늘 몇 달 만에 처음으로 바깥에서 걸으면서 하나님과 귀한 교제의 기도 시간을 가질 수 있었습니다.  그리고 고난을 통하여 오히려 더 성장과 성숙을 갖게 되기에, 오히려 고난이 유익이라는 말씀을 다시 한번 더 깨닫는 경험을 하게 되었습니다.

약할 때 마다 하나님의 실재하심이 소망의 근거가 되었기에, 약할 때 마다 올려 드릴 수 밖에 없었던 연약한 자의 기도를 하나님은 들으시고, 인도하시고, 손 잡아 주시고, 이끌어 주셨습니다.

고난 중에도 하나님은 함께 하셨고, 고난 중에 올려 드린 기도는 더 강함으로 응답해 주셨습니다.  그래서 기도는 하나님의 크고 은밀한 일을 깨닫게 되는 ‘비밀 통로’임을 깨닫습니다.

이제 봄이 되었습니다.  

더 자주, 더 강하게 하나님께로 연결되는 그 비밀 통로를 사용하여 보시지 않으시겠습니까?

* 오늘은 너무나 바쁜 우리들의 삶을 잠시 접어 두고, 함께 기도의 시간을 가지려 합니다.  아래 ‘줌’으로 잠시 후 7시 30분까지 들어 오시면 함께 40분 정도 합심/주제 기도의 시간을 갖도록 하겠습니다.

Great and Hidden Things

"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." (Jeremiah 33:3)

It seems like spring has finally arrived in Michigan. Since the short-term mission trip to Country T in October, I struggled for about a month with a severe flu, and then faced the Michigan winter, during which my body weakened and my mind seemed to lose its strength as well. It appears that the body and mind are connected.

However, in the midst of such weakness and suffering, the faithful God worked, leading, protecting, and providing with His strength beyond human weakness. This past winter was a powerful realization once again of God's might.

Today, for the first time in months, I was able to have a precious time of prayer and fellowship with God while walking outside. And through suffering, I experienced growth and maturity, realizing once more the word that suffering is indeed beneficial.

Whenever I was weak, the reality of God became the foundation of hope, leading me to offer prayers of weakness that God would hear, guide, hold, and lead.

Even in suffering, God was with me, and the prayers offered in suffering were answered with greater strength. Therefore, I realize that prayer is the "secret path" to understanding God's great and hidden deeds.

Now that it's spring.

Why not use that secret path more often and more strongly to connect with God?
